Wynona Eleen Brown

Wynona Eleen "Elaine" Brown, age 75 of Cove, died, Monday, July 31, 2006 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Union. A viewing will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Union prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Cove Cemetery.



Wynona Eleen "Elaine" Brown was born on November 16, 1930 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Norma Eleen Poormon. She attended schools in Idaho Falls, Vancouver, Washington and graduated form Enterprise High School in 1948. She married Gerald A. Brown from Joseph where they lived and ranched on Upper Prairie Creek until they moved to Union County where Jerry was employed with General Telephone Co. Elaine worked at Cove Episcopal Church Camp, Union's Ivan's Food Store, and briefly attended EOU until starting work as a school secretary with Union School District, where she remained until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints her entire life and most recently served as Primary secretary. She loved working with the Primary children. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, lunches and traveling with family and friends throughout her retirement until being diagnosed with cancer.



Survivors included a brother and sister-in-law, Virl and Dianna Basim of Arlington, WA, three children and their spouses; Debra Brown and Clark Noble of Ontario, OR; Michael and Vicki Hill Brown of Cove, and Tyrone and Julie Brown Danburg of Amherst, NE; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
