William Blaine Rice

May 31, 1935 — April 15, 2005

William "Bill" Blaine Rice, age 69 of Union, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. At his request, no public services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

William Blaine Rice was born on May 31, 1935, the son of Elmer Rice in Cle Elum, Washington. Mr. Rice married Evelyn Eckley and together the couple settled in the grande ronde valley. Bill worked as a logger where he logged timber with horses. After a logging accident, he could no longer work and was disabled for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an inventor and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his son and his spouse; Tim and Elaine Rice of Willisville, Arkansas, sister, Ellen Meyer of Salem, Oregon; several step-children; sisters, Evelyn Schuett of Seattle, Washington and Gloria of Washington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
