William Johnson, 59, of Elgin, died March 16, 2006 at Grande Ronde Hospital of natural causes. A Celebration of life will begin at 2 pm Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Elgin Christian Church.
Mr. Johnson was born November 12, 1946 to David and Edith Leach Johnson in Lewiston. He spent his early years in Milton-Freewater and later moved to Elgin. He worked at the Boise Cascade plywood plant for several years. He was a member of the Indian Valley Good Sams Club and enjoyed car racing at the dirt track, the outdoors, hunting and being around people.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Elgin; a son, Michael Johnson of Milton-Freewater; step-children, Colleen Robinson of Elgin and Greg Sowell of Keizer; siblings, Jerry Reed of Tacoma, Washington, John Johnson of Kingman, Arizona, Sally Means and Pat Wagoner of West Virginia and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Organ Donation Program or to the Salvation Army.
