William "Bill" T. Hays

William T. "Bill" Hays, 75, die Jan. 24 at a local care center in La Grande.

A tribute to Bill's life will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loveland Funeral Chapel, 15408 Fourth St., La Grande.

Bill was born on Jan. 13, 1933, to Harry Leslie and Mary Ellen (Wilcox) Hays in Norton Kan. He married Jacqueline Bellus in November 1958. In 1971 the couple moved with their daughter, Ida, from Portland to La Grande, where Bill became active in community affairs, as well as becoming a city councilor.

Bill is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen of La Grande; wife, Jacquie of La Grande; daughter, Ida Kennedy of La Grande; sisters, Carol Eagleton of California and Donna Olmstead of Eugene; brother, John Leslie Hays of Portland; and two grandchildren.
