William Henry Bohnenkamp

William Henry Bohnenkamp, age 87, of Mohave Valley, Arizona and formerly of La Grande, died September 10, 2004. At his request there will be no service.

Mr. Bohnenkamp was born May 23, 1917, to William and Lillian Baker Bohnenkamp in La Grande. He married Ella Maude Applegate on December 31, 1939. During World War II he worked in the shipyards in Vancouver, Washington as a welder and later worked in La Grande in the family hardware store. He opened Bohnenkamp Plumbing and Heating and in 1963 moved to Beaverton where he sold real estate. He retired in 1978 and moved to Mohave Valley.

Survivors include his wife of Mohave Valley; children, William Bohnenkamp of Bend, John Bohnenkamp of Aloha and Robert Bohnenkamp of La Grande; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Bohnenkamp of Island City and George Bohnenkamp of Joseph; two sisters, Mitzi Able and Mary Dow, both of Salem. A grandson died earlier.
