Willard "Bill" Harry Boyd

Willard Harry "Bill" Boyd, 65, of La Grande, died July 23 at his home.

A celebration of life potluck will begin at 11 a.m. Aug. 9 at the Lions Park in Wallowa.

Bill was born Oct. 31, 1942 to Harry Clay and Alpha Bernice (Henry) Boyd in Enterprise. He grew up in Wallowa County. He loved fishing, horses, writing poetry and telling stories. He moved to Cottage Grove earlier in life, and has spent the last 15 years here.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Joseph Dixon of Springfield and Carol Bryant of Lubbock, Texas; sisters, Marilyn and her husband, Ted McConnell, of Oregon City and Linda Larkins of La Grande; brothers, Henry "Ernie" Boyd and his wife, Rose, of Elgin, Jerry Boyd of La Grande and his partner of several years, Becky Montgomery, and Gordon Boyd of La Grande; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
