Warren Logan Hug

June 9, 1921 — October 4, 2008

Warren Logan Hug passed away October 4, 2008 at his home at age 87. There will be a graveside service at the Summerville Cemetery on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.

Mr. Hug was born June 9, 1921 to Raymond and Verdie (Beem) Hug on Pumpkin Ridge. He lived in the Grande Ronde Valley all of his life. Warren married Wanda Jane Land on August 26, 1945. They raised nine children. He enjoyed visiting with people. He loved the outdoors. He cut many cords of wood until about 13 years ago. Warren loved working on the farm and in his garden. He spent many years working for Boise Cascade.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; his brother, Dale Hug of Alicel; all nine of his children, Bonita and Don Berry of La Grande, Beverly and Bruce Westerfield of Oregon City, Teresa and Paul Smits of Oakland, Nebraska, Jerold and Myrna Hug of Beaverton, Sandra and Doug Fisher of Hillsboro, Cynthia and Chester Smith of La Grande, Stephen Hug of Prineville, Kevin and Pam Hug of Madras, Tamera and John Mann of Bremerton, Washington; 28 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leslie and Ernest and a sister, June Wagoner.
