Warren David Evans Sr.

Warren David Evans Sr., age 88, of La Grande, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at his home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastor Brent Clapp of the La Grande Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow at the Summerville Cemetery.


Warren David Evans Sr. was born on January 7, 1917, the son of Jesse and Virginia (Lowther) Evans in Grangeville, Idaho. Mr. Evans served in the United States Navy during World War II. On October 23, 1946, he married Helen Hamlin in La Grande and together to couple lived in the Grande Ronde Valley where Warren was employed with Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1979.


Survivors include his wife, Helen Evans of La Grande; children and their spouses, Warren Jr. and Ellen Evans of La Grande, Joyce and Jim Valentine of Priest River, Idaho; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. One brother and three sisters all preceded him in death.
