Warren Evan Carroll, age 84, a longtime La Grande resident passed away August 22, 2002 at Twin Firs Retirement Center in La Grande.
At his request there will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Warren was born June 30, 1918 at Kelly, Wyoming to Hubert Lawrence and Lucy Jane (VanCleave) Carroll. He graduated from Baker High School and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
In 1937 he married Ann Dockweiler and they had two children, Anna Geraldine and Warren, Jr. In 1951 he married Mary Miller. She preceded him in death. Warren worked as an electrician for Mt. Emily and Boise Cascade for about 35 years.
Warren enjoyed being with family and friends, fishing, traveling, his woodworking and other hobbies. He loved to go to auctions. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and several other organizations.
Warren is survived by his sisters, Lillie Ells, of Baker City, Violet Graham of Baker City and Lois Music of Yelm, Washington; brothers, Omar Carroll of Baker City and George Carroll of Baker City; three grandchildren; special companion, Bobbie Shaw of La Grande; special friend, Minnie Halsey of Union; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Geraldine; son, Warren, Jr.; three brothers; four sisters; and his parents.
