Wallace Arthur Hansell, age 48, of La Grande, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 as a result of an automobile accident.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastor Gary Hood officiating. A private interment will be held. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Hansell was born on July 5, 1954, the son of Delmar and Teen (Gardner) Hansell in La Grande. He graduated from La Grande High School with the class of 1972. He owned and operated a barber shop in the Old Geyser Hotel in Baker City for many years before returning to La Grande nine years ago. He has owned and operated the La Grande Barber Shop on Depot since returning to La Grande. On September 25, 1997 he married Koreen Frederick in Elko, Nevada.
Mr. Hansell recently purchased a Para Plane and enjoyed flying it. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, skiing and bowling. He was also a talented painter and a loving father.
Survivors include his wife, Koreen Hansell of La Grande; children, Daniel and Beth Hansell, both of Baker City; parents, Delmar and Teen Hansell of La Grande; siblings, Michael Hansell of La Grande, Patti Nagy of La Grande, Scott Hansell of Corvallis, David Hansell of Seattle, Betty Owen of Imbler and Ginny Lambert of La Grande; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
