Vergil V. Crane

Vergil V. Crane, 89, of Union, died Aug. 24 at a local care center in La Grande. No services are planned.

Vergil was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Wallowa to Vesta and Mable (Cooper) Crane. He married Linda Moys Aug. 17, 1980.

Vergil owned his own glass business. He enjoyed hunting and playing his violin. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren reveled in his many stories and poems.

He is survived by his wife; children and their spouses, Verna Huffman of Castle Rock, Wash., Paula and Jack Kinnaman of Green Valley, Ariz., Shelly Crane of Green Valley, Ariz., Scott and Vicki Crane of Lostine, Denise and Jack Rhodes of Lostine and Robert and Samantha Butner of Union; and several grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Edith (Duke) Crane; and stepson, Kevin Butner.
