Velma V. Craig, 94, of Glide and formerly of Enterprise, died Jan. 9.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Glide Community Center. The family invites those who knew Velma to view her memorial website at www.taylorsfamilychapel.com.
She was born April 28, 1915, to Allen and Orah Crader in Stites, Idaho. Velma met the love of her life, Oscar Craig, and on May 27, 1933, the two married in Enterprise. They moved to Sutherlin in 1933 to start a family, and they later settled in the Glide area.
Those who knew Velma say her work ethic was strong and she always had more than one job at a time. She loved driving truck and also worked as a school bus driver. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She was a proficient canner.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Velma was preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years, Oscar, as well as her parents and seven siblings.
