Veda Mae Miller

August 7, 1914 — April 27, 2005

Veda Mae Miller, age 90, of La Grande, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A funeral service will begin on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastor Tim Gray of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Committal and interment will follow at the Cove Cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Miller was born on August 7, 1914, the daughter of William and Florence (Anderson) Houx in Cove. She was educated in Cove and on January 2, 1935 she married Richard N. Miller in Walla Walla, Washington. They farmed in Cove from 1935 until 1976 when they moved to La Grande. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cherry Chapter #177 Order of Eastern Star and the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, ceramics, needlework and many other hobbies. Her family was extremely important to her.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Vera Foster and LaVerne Burnett and brothers, Leonard and Howard Houx.
