Tony Ray Kast, age 54, of Clarkston, Washington and formerly of La Grande, died July 16, 2017 at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.
Tony was born on November 25, 1962, the son of Robert and Binnie (Wilson) Kast in Los Angeles, California. He worked as a forest fire fighter in California before moving to Oregon. In 1990 he went to work for Fleetwood Trailers and stayed with them until they closed in 2009. In 1999 he married Terry Schiller-Curtiss in La Grande. In 2011 he moved to Clarkston and worked for Krueger's 1st Stop RV until his death. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was very close with his mother and kept in close contact with her until her death in 2009. Tony took great pride in his work and everything he did. He never called in sick the whole time he worked at Fleetwood. He was a dedicated employee and an excellent provider for his family.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Schiller-Curtiss; children, Amber Kast, Rachel Kast, Jeremy Smith, Christopher Smith, Chelsie Schiller-Curtiss and Matthew Schiller-Curtiss; siblings, Ricky Kast, Anyla Kast, Kiela Stellings and Josh Kast; eleven grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robbie Kast. he also left behind his beloved Queenland red Heeler named Spud. He took his doge verywhere with him, including to work, as he was his best friend.
