Thomas Chester Craig, age 90, of Summerville died Wednesday at his home. A service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel in Summerville.
Mr. Craig was born on April 2, 1916, the son of George Austin and Lulu Dot (Buchanan) Craig in Summerville. On February 11, 1939 he married Dorothy Sanderson and he worked in the logging industry for a dozen years before farming and ranching in Summerville. Dorothy preceded him in death in 2004.
Mr. Craig was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Shriners, the Oddfellows, the Order of Eastern Star and was Dad Advisor for Rainbow Girls. He enjoyed horses, fishing, square dancing and his other farm animals. He loved his grandchildren and had a keen sense of humor throughout his life.
Survivors include his children, Dallas and Bonnie Craig of Pleasant Hill, Oregon and Steve and Carol Craig of Summerville; brother, Roy Craig of Redmond, Washington; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a baby sister, Bessie Craig and other siblings, Oscar Craig, Irene Doud, Archie Craig and Ruia Johnson.
