Theodore Mclaughlin, Jr.

Theodore McLaughlin Jr., 73, of La Grande, died Feb. 22 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Baker City. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Summerville Cemetery.

Theodore was born May 28, 1936, to Theodore and Hazel McLaughlin in Alliance, Neb. He attended early years of school in Nebraska, moving to Summerville in 1954 where his family farmed.

Ted graduated from Imbler High School in 1956 and was the president of the FFA chapter there. Later the family moved to La Grande.

He married Della Doud on May 16, 1961, at the Summerville Baptist Church. They later divorced. Ted and Della had two children, Tracy Len and Amber Juwane. Ted worked at various jobs around Union County. He was as an avid hunter and fisherman. As a member of the National Hunters Association, he read about and studied re-loading.

Ted liked to ride his bicycle throughout Union County. He often could be seen riding along Island Avenue, towing his orange trailer, along with his companion, Lorraine Kelley.
