Terrance "Terry" Dean Lincoln

Terrance "Terry" Donald Lincoln, 80, of La Grande, died March 25 at a local care center in La Grande. His funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in

La Grande. A viewing for family and friends will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Loveland Funeral Chapel.

Terry was born May 11, 1930, to Ted and Lucy (Harbec) Lincoln in a logging camp near Garibaldi. As a boy, he lived at various logging sites throughout Northwest Oregon.

Terry served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1948 to 1950, then enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War serving from 1950 to 1954 as a radar man on the U.S.S. Ross and military police at various ports of call. Terry was honorably discharged from both the Marine Corp and the Navy.

Following his military service, he attended the University of Portland and received a bachelor of art degree in business administration with majors in accounting and economics.

Terry married Carolyn Marie Beveridge in Portland in 1956. They moved to La Grande in 1965. He joined the firm of Eveson & Snyder, later becoming a partner.

Terry held various positions with Optimist Club, Elks Lodge, American Legion, Lions Club, Hunters Safety, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Red Cross of Constantine and Scottish Rite. Terry was a Mason and Shriner and affiliated with the Eastern Star and Knights Templar.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed bird hunting, fly fishing, gardening, tending his fruit trees and beekeeping.

He was an avid fan of the Cowboys, TrailBlazers and Yankees.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn; children and their spouses, Mike and Gina Lincoln of Island City, John and Susan Lincoln of Port Orford, Annette and Floyd Powers of

La Grande and Tom Lincoln and his fiancé, Sharon Inghels, of La Grande; sister, Peg Bucholz of Oro Valley, Ariz.; brother-in-law and spouse, Don and Dawn Adkisson of Milwaukie; stepbrother and spouse, Wayne and Pat Fuller of Vancouver, Wash.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Edna (Klopfenstein) Lincoln; step-mother, Mabel (Striker) Lincoln; sister, Pat Adkisson; brother-in-law, Chuck Bucholz; and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital or La Grande Optimist Club in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel.
