Sylvia Wilson, age 88 of La Grande, died, Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at a local care facility. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Sylvia Wilson was born on September 10, 1917, the daughter of Mathew and Christina Elizabeth (McNew) Nooner in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Robert Blacker who later preceded her in death due to an automobile accident. Sylvia later married Arthur R. Wilson in Sisters, Oregon. Sylvia was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of the Church of the Open Bible and later New Hope Church. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, baking and playing bunko with the same bunko group for many years.

Survivors include her children; Shirley Cox of La Grande, Donna L. Frash of La Grande and Judith "Judy" Larsen of Eugene, Oregon; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Her husbands Robert Blacker and Arthur R. Wilson; five sisters and eight brothers, granddaughter Debbie Jean Frash and one step son, Dwayne Wilson all preceded her in death.
