Susie Anderson Chappelle

December 23, 1951 — February 6, 2003

Susie Anderson Hewitt Chappelle, age 51, of La Grande, died Thursday, February 6, 2003 at her home.


At her request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Susie's life is tentatively planned for February 17 at the American Legion Post 43 in La Grande. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Susie was born on December 23, 1951 in La Grande, the daughter of Richard and Mary (Bowen) Hewitt. She attended schools in Imbler and North Powder. She tended bar for many years in both the Pendleton and La Grande area. She enjoyed and loved her work and all the many friends she made in her life.


Susie spent most of her life in Eastern Oregon and had numerous friends and loved and enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved plants and flowers, cooking, holidays and shopping, crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting. Susie also loved to travel, seeing new places and doing new and different things. She was a very happy, loving lady and will be missed by all her friends and family.


Survivors father, Richard Hewitt; husband, Bob Chappelle; daughters, Nichole Horn, Autumn Wilson; son, James Wilson; granddaughter, Skyla Christina DeLint and grandson, Gabrill Sanerive Ofoa, all of the La Grande area.

Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Susie to the Oregon Cancer Society or the GRH Home Care Services in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
