Susan Lorraine Alexander

Susan Lorraine Alexander, age 57, of Elgin, and formerly of Wallowa, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wallowa Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.

Susan was born on September 3, 1952, the daughter of Ardeth and Patricia Spruill in Oregon City. She was raised in California and graduated from Oroville High School. She married Doug Alexander on August 30, 1974. In 1977 they moved to Wallowa from California. In 1993 they moved to Elgin. Her children consider her an "awesome Mom" who enjoyed cooking and loved having turtles and collecting turtle memorabilia.

Survivors include her husband, Doug of Elgin; children, Doug Alexander of Maryland, Tammy Garwood of Mississippi and Brandy Alexander of Mississippi; grandchildren, Sierra, Susan and Gabriel; sister, Sandra Schultz of Missouri; brothers, Zane and Shawn Fallon of Alaska and Quinn Fallon of California; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, Danny and Flynn.

Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Oregon Lung Association in care of Daniels~Knopp, 1502 7th Street, La Grande.
