"Sue" Frances Louise Tucori

Frances Louise "Sue" Tucori, age 85, of La Grande, died Saturday, February 4, 2005 at a local care facility. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Sarah Morningstar Stanton officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Tucori was born on May 25, 1919, the daughter of Carl Jacobson in Stronghurst, Illinois. After high school she attended nursing school in Illinois before serving as a lieutenant in the Navy Nurse Corp in San Diego, California. While stationed in San Diego she met her future husband, Pete J. Tucori. They later moved to La Grande where she worked as a nurse for the Grande Ronde Hospital. Her husband preceded her in death on June 5, 1977.

Mrs. Tucori was a very active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, serving as a lay minister and was a member of St. Anne's Guild. She was also active with various charitable organizations, including Shelter from the Storm, Oregon Heart Association, Hospice and the local food bank. People were her hobby and she would help anyone in need.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Eileen Tucori of Hillsboro; son, Frank Tucori of La Grande; grandson, Travis Haines of Denver and other relatives and friends. A brother, Carl "Jake" Jacobson, preceded her in death.
