Steven Anthony Teske, 60, of Walla Walla and formerly of La Grande, died Sept. 18 after suffering from a cardiac problem while driving on U.S. Highway 12.
A funeral service was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Walla Walla last month.
Steven was born Sept. 2, 1947, to Reuben and Lois Ruth Taylor Teske in Baker City. He lived for a while in La Grande and graduated from a local church school. He graduated from Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, Wash., in 1965 and attended Walla Walla College. He served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge in 1967.
He married Dolly Ogren in 1966. They had two children, Steven H. and Dolly Jo. The couple later divorced.
On March 1, 1997, he married Patricia "Pat" Bunn Schafer in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Steven was the owner of Teske and Associates Mechanical Services for 12 years. He enjoyed boating and restoring cars.
He was a member of Washington Odd Fellows Enterprise Lodge No. 2.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; a daughter and son-in-law, Dolly Jo and Rick Spangler of Grand Junction, Colo; two step-daughters, Teresa Schafer of Castle Wood, S.D., and Jackie Schafer of Stockholm, S.D.; a son and daughter-in-law Steven H. and Erin Teske of Frederick, Md.; two stepsons, James Schafer of Milbank, S.D., and Tony Schafer of Stockholm; father and stepmother, Jean Teske of Rice, Wash.; two brothers, David Teske of Port Townsend, Wash., and Terrance Wesley Teske of Walla Walla; six grandchildren and a step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother.
