Stella K. Scott

Stella Kristina Scott, age 84 of La Grande, died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at her home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Daniels Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.

Stella Kristina Scott was born on December 24, 1919, the daughter of Albert Fredrick and Sophie (Olsen) Jones in Detroit, Michigan. She spent her earlier years traveling with her father across the United States. She enlisted in the United States Army where she served in the Women's Army Corps and was a tech. 4 during World War II until her honorable discharge in 1946. On May 24, 1946 she married Jack Russell Scott in Honolulu, Hawaii. Jack preceded her in death on March 7, 1999. She was a member of the VFW and enjoyed dancing, spending time with her friends at the senior center and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children and their spouses; Penny and Phil Yost of La Grande, Cindy Boozer of Eagle Point, Oregon, and Roger Jones of Sandy, Oregon; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. A brother, Earl Jones and a sister Emily Kerley preceded her in death.
