Stanton Park V, 55, of Nampa, Idaho, and formerly of La Grande, died March 22 at home after a battle with melanoma cancer. There will be a private family viewing and graveside service. Family and friends are asked to join the family for a celebration of life from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Sandstone Event Center, 404 12th Ave. S., in Nampa. Arrangements are under the care of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
Known as Stan, he was born May 8, 1954, to Stanton and Betty Rae Park in Mountain Home, Idaho, where he was raised and educated. Stan married Deborah Loosli on Nov. 14, 1970. Together they had three daughters.
Stan's passions in life were Deborah and his family, cooking (especially barbecuing), traveling and golf.
Spending his entire working life driving truck was something in which Stan took great pride. The first 13 years were spent driving fuel tankers for oil companies. After moving to La Grande in 1988, he and Deborah bought a logging truck and operated it until 1995, when he went to work for United Parcel Service.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Deborah; daughters and sons-in-law, Sumer and Todd Secord, Angela and William Thomas and Lyndsey and Kelly Jacobs, all of Nampa; four grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Patti Park and Robert and Carolyn Park, all of Boise; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
