Spencer Blaine Matte

Spencer Blaine Matte, age 24, of Elgin died October 22, 2011 in La Grande. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the grange hall outside of Elgin on Middle Road. A potluck will follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made in his memory to an account set up at US Bank or in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.


Spencer was born on November 13, 1986, the son of Spencer James and Gina (Like) Matte in Enumclaw, Washington. Spencer later moved to Elgin with family where he attended Elgin schools. He worked as a laborer in the timber industry. He enjoyed playing basketball, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, reading the bible and art.


Survivors include his mother, Gina Matte of Elgin; father, Spencer Matte of Kingston, Washington; brothers, Jeremy Matte of La Grande and Joshua Matte of Elgin; grandfather, Robert Like of Elgin; numerous aunts and uncles.
