Sheryl Elaine Hug

Sheryl Elaine Hug, age 53, of Summerville, died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Settler's Park Assisted Living in Baker City. A family service was held and those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the Christian Children's Fund or Doernbecher Hospital in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.

Mrs. Hug was born on June 12, 1951, the daughter of Richard and Gladys (Isaacson) Stevens in La Grande. The family moved to Wyoming when she was young and they returned to Oregon when she was in high school. She graduated from Imbler high school with the class of 1969. On March 19, 1970 she married David Hug in La Grande.

Mrs. Hug was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked beside her husband on the family farm, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, working in the yard, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to plan for holidays and special events and would spend days and weeks making sure everything was just right.

Survivors include her husband, David Hug of Summerville; daughters, Wendy Hug of Island City and Brenda Allison of Portland; three grandchildren; mother, Gladys Stevens of La Grande; sister, Vicky Bruce of La Grande; and other relatives and friends.
