Sherry Thornton

Sherry Thornton, 65, of Enterprise, died Dec. 30 at Wallowa Memorial Hospital. At her request, there will be no services.

Sherry was born March 5, 1945, to Clara Marie Thoen and Albert Lucarelli in Virginia, Minn. Her given name was Cheryl Ann Lucarelli. Sherry and her mother moved to the Lewiston, Idaho, area. Her mother married Ambrose Jeffreys and Sherry took his name.

After high school, she married Thomas Thornton of Leland, Idaho, July 20, 1963. They were married for 47 years.

Sherry loved camping and picking huckleberries. She was a sewer and a quilter.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Thornton of Enterprise; sister, Trudy Casto of Clarkston, Wash.; two sons, Jeffrey of Eugene and Ryan and his wife, Catherine, of Verona, Va.; and four grandchildren.
