Sharon Marie Dougharity Stace, age 59, of Ajo, Arizona and formerly of Summerville, died March 15, 2003 in Arizona.
A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Private interment will be by her parents at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Stace was born on November 23, 1943, the daughter of G.A. "Mick" and Lucille Elizabeth "Lucy" (Justice) Dougharity in Prairie City, Oregon. The family moved to Union County in 1954 and she graduated from Imbler High School in 1962. In 1971 she married Larry Stace and they lived in Carson, Washington until two and a half years ago when they moved to Ajo.
Mrs. Stace was a very talented person who decorated wedding and other cakes. She was an excellent seamstress and tailor and she loved to sew. She was a very family oriented woman and she loved to fish. She was a member of the Ajo congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Stace of Ajo; son, Brett Stace, serving with the United States Navy on the USS Constellation in the Persian Gulf; daughter, Dawn Chase of Portland; one granddaughter; one grandson; brother, Mick and Charlotte Dougharity of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Beth Dunkleberger of Portland and Patty and Russell Bingaman of Imbler; aunt, Bert Welch of Grass Valley, California; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Stace to the Blue Mtn. 4-H Center in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
