Sara Elizabeth Alexander, age 88, of Summerville, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at a local care facility.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Pastor Frank Humber of the Summerville Baptist Church officiating. Committal and interment will follow at the Summerville Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander was born on 12/13/14 in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Mason E. and Lennet E. (Morland) Power. On February 17, 1937 she married George E. Alexander in Burbank, California.
She worked as a school bus driver for the handicap children in Burbank for 24 years. She loved those children and her job. She was a life member of The Women of the Moose, Burbank, California chapter, which she was very active in for many years. She was also a life member of the PTA. Mrs. Alexander enjoyed being with children of any age. She was a member of the Summerville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobby Jean Cornford of Summerville; sons, George E. Alexander of Burbank, California, Mason E. Alexander, Burbank, California and Gerald Alexander of West Point, New York; brothers, Eugene R. Power of Summerville and Thomas M. Power of Fallon, Nevada; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her husband, mother, father, two sisters, three brothers and two grandsons preceded her in death.
