Ruby B. St. John

Ruby B. St. John, 96, of Union, died July 8 at a local care center.

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Island City Cemetery followed by a celebration of life and memorial luncheon at 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall in Union.

Ruby was born April 11, 1912, in Slope County, N.D. She moved to Union in the 60s. She enjoyed her yard, growing sunflowers and roses.

Ruby was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 4060, the OES Grande Ronde Valley No. 49 and the American Legion Auxiliary No. 43. she held workshops on the art of tatting.

Ruby enjoyed singing and would entertain passengers on the senior bus trips and at the care center.

She is survived by many long-time friends; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
