Roxana Doloris Casey

April 29, 1943 — May 18, 2024

Ford, Washington

Roxana Doloris was born on April 29, 1943 in Seaside, Oregon, the daughter of a immigrant from Ireland, Robert J. and his wife V. Connie (Walker) Casey.  She grew up around the northwest as her family moved about working in mines and building the Grand Coulee Dam.  In 1961 she graduated from Shadle Park High school in Spokane, Washington and later married to Lloyd Knopp at the Fairchild Air Force Base.  Together they had two sons, Wiliam Lloyd and Michael Arthur.

She was a devoted mother and travelled to Texas and Spain with her husband’s Air Force career.  After returning to Spokane she completed the training to become a nurse and worked for the Sacred Heart Hospital until 1984 when she went to work for the Nancy Reagan Care Unit at Deaconess Hospital until 1989 when she worked Eastern Washington State Hospital in Medical Lake where she finished her career in 2008.  While working at the State she met Buckley Harden who was also a nurse and they spent the remainder of his years on his forested acreage in the rural area outside of Spokane.  After his death in 2001 Roxie remained in the acreage she enjoyed so much.

Roxie loved to garden and she enjoyed seeing the sights, such as Boston and Grand Coulee Dam and others.  She and friend took a trip to Ireland.  She also enjoyed cross stitch and ceramics as well as other handiwork.  After moving to the country, she developed a great love of animals, especially the dogs that adopted her!

Survivors include her sons Bill & his wife, Lori of Kennewick, Mike of Ford, Washington; grandchildren, Jason & Katherine, Larissa, Ian, Sean, Alison, Trevor and Melissa; great-grandchildren, William, James and Clara; a sister Kathryn Driscoll of Spokane Valley.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, David Casey.

Roxana D. Casey entered into rest on May 18, 2024 in the peace of her home she loved so much in the scenic and picturesque landscape near Ford, Washington.
