Rose Minnie (Ott) Marx, age 90, of La Grande, died June 4, 2011 at a local foster care center. Viewing will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
Rose was born October 4, 1920, to Emma (Gumm) and Gus Ott in Yuma, Colorado. She married Glenn M. Marks on November 28, 1939 in Weiser, Idaho. They were married 68 years prior to his death in 2007. She spent many years working in the grocery business, at what is best remembered as Wayne's Market. Her family remember her as being a good cook. They especially enjoyed her pies and salmon salad. She bowled on a league for many years. She enjoyed trips to Jackpot and Reno, Nevada. She loved being a part of her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed reading and had her favorite soaps.
She is survived by her three sons, Bert Marx of La Grande; Donald (Ruth) Marx of La Grande and Ron (Janelle) Marx of Cove; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; two daughters-in-law, Verleen and Phyllis Marx, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of choice in care of Daniels~Knopp, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.
