Roma Rae 'Ginger' Wagener

Roma Rae 'Ginger' Wagener, age 91, of Pendleton and formerly of La Grande, died November 1, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. A funeral will begin at 2: 00 p.m. on Monday at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Island City. Interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery.

Roma was born on March 16, 1925, the daughter of Shirley and Sadie Rosella (Clough) Beers in Spooner, Wisconsin. When she was a small child the family moved to the Pendleton/Walla Walla area. She married Robert James Wagener in Boise, Idaho. The family moved to Minnesota for several years but returned to La Grande in 1963. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001 and in 2005 she moved to Pendleton. While in La Grande she attended the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, riding horses and traveling. She sewed, quilted and crocheted.

Survivors include her children, Sid and Sheryl Wagener of Yakima, Washington, Janitta and Weldon Carper of Clarkston, Washington Dave and Monica Wagener of Erie, Colorado and Robert and Kendra Wagener of Erie, Colorado; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Jack Beers of Pendleton and Red Beers of Pilot Rock; and other relatives and friends.
