Robert Allen Shepherd

Robert Allen Shepherd, formerly of Elgin, died on June 21, 2009 in Prosser, Washington at the age of 91 years old.

Mr. Shepherd was born June 29, 1917 in Silverton, Oregon to Floyd and Marjorie Shepherd, he had one older brother Paul Shepherd, all who preceed him in death. He was married on Feburary 11, 1939 to Geneva Farris who proceeded him in death also. They had two children David Shepherd and his wife Judy Shepherd of Prosser, WA and Sarah Fine of Olympia, WA. He also left behind five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

He spent much of his early adult years working in a logging camps on the Oregon Coast, then moved and settled with his family in Scotts Mills, Oregon, in the early 1960s he moved to Baker City, Oregon where he worked on ranches in the Imbler and Elgin areas before settling in Elgin, Oregon where he lived until the last year of his life before moving to Prosser, WA.

A Graveside Service will be held on July 1,2009 in Elgin, Oregon where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Geneva at 2:00pm, followed by a memorial service to be held at Elgin Baptist Church in Elgin, Oregon at 3:00pm. The service will be officated by Roger Cochran of Trinity Baptist Church.
