Robert Alan Oesterling

Robert Alan Oesterling, 57, of Glide died July 2, 2006 in Baker City at his mother's home. A graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Friday at Grandview Cemetery in La Grande.

Mr. Oesterling was born December 26, 1948 to Robert Grandy and Winnifred Eloise Moore Oesterling in La Grande. He was a champion swimmer in his teens and an avid hunter. He could never pass a historic landmark without stopping to read it. He enjoyed skiing, cooking, fishing, listening to classical music, photography, cats, intellectually challenging conversation, computers and the ocean.

Survivors include his companion, Faye Rodriguez of Glide; his mother of Baker City; a brother, Richard; a sister, Judith; daughters, Michelle and Jennifer; four granddaughters and other relatives.
