Robert Allyn Niederer

Robert Allyn Niederer, 85, formerly of La Grande, died Nov. 23 following a heart attack.

A memorial service was held Dec. 1 at Covenant United Methodist Church in Reedsport. Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert was born Oct. 16, 1925, to Lelo and Lillian Wagner Niederer in Summerville. He married Ellen McCormick Nov. 16, 1952, in La Grande.

He served in the Army and was an MP in the occupation forces in Japan after World War II. He worked in plywood manufacturing as a panel patcher at International Paper Co. He also worked as a trapper and managed rental property.

Survivors include his wife; son, Daniel of Reedsport; and three brothers, Vernon of Tacoma, Roy of La Grande and Dale of Pahrump, Nev.
