Robert Thomas Kausler

Robert Thomas Kausler, age 62, of Union, died Friday, December 20, 2002 at his home.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Cemetery with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 until 12:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande.
Mr. Kausler was born on May 9, 1940, the son of Robert and Agnes Kausler in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Army and was a paratrooper and MP in Panama. After his honorable discharge he attended the University of Pennsylvania. In 1961 he moved to California and in June of 1962 he married Barbara Daroszewski in Los Angeles, California. They moved to La Grande in 1970 and the marriage ended in divorce in 1975. He worked as a carpenter for various contractors. He loved the outdoors and woodworking and spent many, many hours with his grandchildren.


Survivors include his children, Robert and Cherie Kausler of Union, Yvonne and Jesse Roberts of Union, Denise and Lonnie Ferguson of North Bend, Washington, Tanya and Roy Baremore of La Grande, William and Melissa Kausler of Tigard and Hilary and Jack Fiedler of Redondo Beach, California; ten grandchildren; brothers, William Kausler of Carson City, Nevada and Dan Kausler of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; sister, Kathy Lopata of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and other relatives and friends.
