Robert "Bob" Lee Herrmann

Robert "Bob" Lee Herrmann, 74, of Bend and formerly of La Grande, died peacefully May 25 from heart failure. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with a viewing running between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m. at the LDS Church at 60800 Tekampe Road, Bend.

Bob was born March 4, 1935, to William and Mary Herrmann. He was the youngest of four children. His family moved to La Grande when he was eight months old. He lived in La Grande until 1987 when he moved to Bend where he spent the rest of his days.

Bob was a 1953 graduate of La Grande High School and also attended Greenwood Elementary School and La Grande Junior High. He worked for many years in both the La Grande and Bend School districts and retired in 1993 as transportation supervisor of the Bend LaPine School District.

He was a member of the Oregon National Guard and proudly retired with 24 years of service in 1987. He was a member of the LDS Church, The Golden Age Club and the cribbage club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, cribbage, Sudoku, daily crossword puzzles and being around family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Herrmann; his two daughters, Lori Bloom of La Grande and Teresa Herrmann of Bend; his two sons, Scott Herrmann of Redmond and Brian Herrmann of Utah; brother, Lawrence Hermann; sister, Rosalie Gilson; son-in-law, Richard Bloom; daughter-in-law, Stacie Herrmann; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jeanna; and his brother, Olin Hermann.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital or Partners in Care, formerly Hospice of Bend and LaPine.
