Robert Lewis Heath

April 20, 1950 — February 1, 2016

Robert Lewis Heath, 65 of Christmas Valley, formerly of La Grande, died February 1st from complication caused by an automobile accident which occurred near Burns.

A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Grandview Cemetery. The family requests attendees wear casual dress.

Robert was born on April 20, 1950 in Portland to Max and Margery (Rose) Heath. The family lived in Roseburg, Crescent City and Eureka. Robert joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge from the Navy he worked as a millwright for various construction companies, mostly in the Sweet Home area. He came to La Grande in 1988 and in 2014 he moved to Christmas Valley.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid coin collector and loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Mike Jordan of La Grande, a nephew and his wife, Michael, Jr. and Angie and their 3 sons of Madisonville, Tennessee and numerous cousins.

Contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the American Legion Post #43 for the building fund or the VFW.

Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral & Cremation Center of La Grande.
