Robert 'Bob' Jackson Garnett

Robert Jackson 'Bob' Garnett, age 85, of Elgin, died August 31, 2016 at a care facility in Hermiston, Oregon. At his request there will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.

Bob was born on August 2, 1931, the son of Paul Everett and Marjorie Grey (Wilcoxen) Garnett at home in Linda California. He grew up turning Marjorie's hair gray with his best friend and brother Don.He graduated high school and then earned an Associate's Degree from Yuba College. During the Korean War he served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in June of 1954. On June 13, 1954 he married Carol Roberta Yerkes. They lived in Marysville, California and he worked for Degorgo Fruit Company and then operated Sutter Yuba Mosquito Abatement. in 1977 they moved to Imnaha, where he ranched, until 2001 and in 2008 they moved to Elgin. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Cattlemen's Association, Grange and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Garnett; children, Bill and Debbie Garnett, Randy and Liz Garnett, Joe Garnett and Roberta and Ray Garnett Temple; brother Don Garnett; grandchildren, Bo, Chris, Becky, Garnett Cole, Corie, Megan, Ben and Sam Garnett; great grandchildren, Jessalyn, Emily, Wiill, Molly Garnett, Natalie, Valerie, Brittany, Shelby Cole and Mattie and Anna Carlstron; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by Grandparents and mother and father.
