Rita Caroline Gibbs

Rita Caroline Gibbs, 65, formerly of La Grande, died March 2, in Mesa, Ariz.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. June 16 at Grandview Cemetery in La Grande.

Rita was born Dec. 27, 1942, to Wilbur and Palma (Huys) Morrison in Baker. She grew up in Eastern Oregon and married Garold John Gibbs in 1958 after her freshman year in high school.

She graduated from Union High School in 1961. Rita worked for various companies before opening her own bookkeeping service in La Grande.

In 1998 she moved to Mesa.

Survivors include her children, Curtis Gibbs of Sheridan and Wanda Bailey and her husband, Don, of Oakley, Calif.; mother, Palma Morrison of Darby, Mont.; sisters, Sylvia Keller and her husband, Don, of Alturas, Calif.; and Priscilla Hopkins and her husband, William, of La Grande; brother, Wilbur Morrison Jr. of Missoula, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Morrison Sr.
