Rita Jean "Jeannie" Ferguson, 72, of Summerville, died Nov. 15 at Grande Ronde Hospital.

Rita Jean "Jeannie" Ferguson, 72, of Summerville, died Nov. 15 at Grande Ronde Hospital.

A celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Life Center, 10700 S. Walton Road in Island City.

Jeannie was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Falls City, Neb.

She had a great love for caring for her children and her home when her children were young, and thereafter. She also loved tap dancing and the Jitterbug, both of which she was great at, as well as cooking. Those who knew her say they'll miss her great sense of humor. She had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jeannie is survived by her children, Linda and her husband, Randy Mann, of Summerville, Steve and his wife, Kathe Teem, of Los Molinos, Calif., Shauna and her husband, Tim Bowman, of Enumclaw, Wash., Janet Torress of Summerville, Kevin Teem of Susanville, Calif., and Sharon and her husband, Mike Kubishta, of Salem; sisters, Carol Iverson of Elgin, Laura Hills of Summerville and Madeline Heinke of Puyallup, Wash.; brother, Hallie Noland of Alvadore; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lloyd Ferguson; mother, Daisy Noland; father, Hallie Noland; brother, Freddie Noland; and sisters, Evelyn Brooks and Martha Willings.
