Reba Clark

July 10, 1921 — January 6, 2009

Reba Clark, 87, of Beaverton and formerly of Union County, died Jan. 6 from complications of Parkinson's disease. A graveside memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hillcrest Cemetery in La Grande. Reba's niece, Terry Thomas, will officiate.

Reba was born July 10, 1921, in North Powder to Bertrand and Mary Kail. She was raised in and attended school in

La Grande and surrounding communities. She married Charles C. (Ced) Clark on Christmas Day 1939.

Reba was active in the First Christian Church and was the church secretary until she returned to college in 1954. She earned a master's degree in education and taught at Greenwood and Central grade schools until she retired in 1984.

Reba and Ced were very active in the La Grande Elks and the La Grande Country Club. Reba loved to write poetry and short stories. The year she turned 80 the family had a collection of her works published.

After Ced died in 1980 and Reba retired from teaching, she moved to Beaverton to be closer to family.

Survivors include daughters, Judith Tiller of Healsberg, Calif., and Diane Jones and husband, Tom, of Beaverton; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren; sister, Retha Bowman of La Grande; a niece, two nephews and other family members.
