Raymond Arlie Richardson

Raymond Arlie Richardson, age 73, a lifelong resident of Cove, died Friday, May 09, 2008 at a local care facility. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m at the Cove Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.

Mr. Richardson was born on July 2, 1934, the son of Arlie "Shorty" and Lena (Bristow) Richardson in Cove, Oregon. He graduated from Cove High School and served 14 years in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge he worked as a cook for Denny's Restaurant until retiring. He was a former member of the Promise Keepers and a long time member of AA. He loved watching sports on TV.

Survivors include his sisters and their husbands, Gay and Joe Scott of Island City, Dottie and Bob Reed of Alberta, Canada and Doreen and Melvin Depuy of Trail, Oregon; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as other relatives and friends.

Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Cove Baptist Church.
