Raymond S. Needham

Raymond S. Needham, 75, of La Grande, died on July 27, 2008 at his home. Ray was born on August 28, 1932 in Cove, Oregon. He graduated from Cove High School. After graduation he served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Berneva Garrett from Union, Oregon on July 14, 1956. They had 2 children. Ray worked in the lumber industry for 40 plus years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed spending time snowmobiling, fishing, gardening, time in the mountains and with his family and friends.

Ray is survived by his wife, Berneva; daughter, JoAnn, son-in-law, Ken Croteau; 3 grandchildren, Raymond, Lauren and Anthony, all of Newberg, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his son, Jim, in 1988, his parents, 2 brothers, Leon and Bill and 2 sisters, June and Shirley.

At Ray's request there will be no funeral. A family memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Mary's Cancer Clinic, Walla Walla, Washington, Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Union County Home Health Hospice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.
