Raymond Harlo Clark

August 6, 1934 — April 20, 2005

Raymond Harlo Clark, 70, of John Day and formerly of La Grande died April 20 at St. Elizabeth Health Services in Baker City. At his request there was no funeral. Mr. Clark was born August 6, 1934, to Charles and Hazel Clark in La Grande. He attended school in Austin and graduated high school in Prairie City in 1952. He worked for the US Forst Service and at the mill in Kinzua and in 1954 he married Janis Combs. They lived in Bates, where he worked for the Edward Hines Lumber Co. When the mill closed in Bates, they moved to John Day. He retired as a millwright after 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being out in the hills.

Survivors include his wife of John Day; children and their spouses, Cheryl and Terry Sherman of John Day and Roger Clark of Pilot Rock; three gandchildren; sisters, Lois Jean King of Payette, Idaho, Betty Lou White of Portland and Stella McCauley of Mount Vernon. His parents and two brothers, Charles "Earl" and David Clark died earlier.
