Ramona Lee Rosenberg, 68, of Union and formerly of Pendleton, died Feb. 14 at her home. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Mission, 48022 St. Andrew's Road, in Pendleton.
A celebration of life will immediately follow the service at the Eagles Lodge, at the corner of Main and Frasier.
Ramona was born June 8, 1942, to Leo Cyrus and Esther Melee (Greetan) Dodds in Everett, Wash. She attended schools in Snohomish, Wash., before moving to Pendleton and Pilot Rock and eventually to Union.
Ramona married Michael P. Fitzpatrick Sr. on Oct. 4, 1958. They were later divorced. On Sept. 10, 1988, she married Herman C. "Sonny" Rosenberg, and they were married until his passing in 2007.
Ramona was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She worked for Pete French Ranch as a cook, for Nila Carnes's day care and also cleaned houses. She loved being in the mountains, and her favorite activities were camping and hunting. Ramona enjoyed playing pinochle, bowling, mushrooming, huckleberry picking, fishing, embroidery and playing bingo. She attended the Pendleton Round-up for years.
Ramona had a heart of gold and would do anything for people she knew. She loved being around her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Rosenberg; parents, Leo Dodds and Esther Reed; and siblings, Gene Sly, Phillip Dodds and Sheri Nicholson.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Michael Fitzpatrick of Union, Connie and Tim Ferguson of La Grande, Donald and Kim Fitzpatrick of Pendleton and Bonnie and Bob Haley of Elgin; stepchildren and their spouses, Joe and Melody Rosenberg, Brad and Marcy Rosenberg and Aloma Rosenberg, all of Pendleton; siblings and their spouses, Myrtle Peters of Osburn, Idaho, Ronald and Delores Dodds of Dillingham, Alaska, Donald and Sheryl Townsend of Yakima, Wash., Michael and Lita Townsend of Port Angeles, Wash., and Jim Townsend and Gail Townsend, both of Marysville, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
