Ralph Schisler, age 74 of Union, died, June 23, 2006. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. the New Life Center in La Grande. Interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Ralph Schisler was born on December 23, 1931 the son of Francis and Marie (Schneider) Schisler in North Platte, Nebraska. At an early age the family moved to California. He served his country in the United States Navy. In 1973 Ralph moved to Klamath Falls where he owned a ranch. In 1981 he moved to the Catherine Creek area where he continued ranching before settling in Union where he was a carpenter and contractor for many years. On April 22, 2005 he married Betty Travis in La Grande. He was a member of the New Life Center and enjoyed traveling, photography, hunting and most of all loved cutting wood.
Survivors include his wife Betty Schisler of Union; children Chuck Schisler of Lake Forest, California, Debbie Carroll of Apple Valley, California, Dawn Roland of Riverside, California, Julie Achleithner of La Grande; step-children, Tammy Pascoe of Salt Lake City, Utah and Teena Bambolo of Bothel, Washington; brother, Bob Schisler of California; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. His parents and a son, Jack Schisler all preceded him in death.
