Phyllis V. Mcclary

Phyllis V. McClary, age 76 of Elgin, a beloved wife, mother grandmother and friend went peacefully to the Lord surrounded by her loved ones on November 27, 2006 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Phyllis was born on April 16, 1930 the daughter of Donald and Bessie (Garlough) Lester in Watford City, North Dakota. On April 23, 1950, she married Denny B. Mc Clary in Garden City, Nevada and resided at Stockton Navel Base in Stockton, California until 1952. From 1952 until 1984 they resided at various fish hatchery locations through out the State of Oregon. After Denny's retirement they found their permanent residence in Elgin.

Phyllis was very active in Blue Mountain Chapter of the Order Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and did volunteer work with Community Connections. She enjoyed dancing, playing card, games, cooking, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Denny Mc Clary of Elgin; children, Deborah Cummins of Mc Minneville, Oregon, Corinne Reiman of Chehalis, Washington and Susan Watson of Elgin; six grandchildren; sisters, Faye Paige of Boise, Idaho, Eunice Yost of Colorado and a brother, Glenn Lester of Garden Valley, Idaho. Her parents, two brothers and six sisters all preceded her in death.
