Phyllis Marie Marx

Phyllis Marie Marx, age 56, of La Grande, died Sunday July 29, 2007 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Committal and interment will follow at the Union Cemetery. View will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.

Phyllis was born on July 1, 1951, the daughter of Beryl and Dorothy (Silvey) Brookshire in Prineville, Oregon. The family lived in Mitchell before moving to Union where she graduated from high school. She worked in the bakery at Albertsons for 14 years. On April 4, 1992 she married Bert Marx in La Grande. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing and boating.

Survivors include her husband, Bert of La Grande; children, Mark Kirkland of Nampa, Idaho and Laurie and Tim Testerman of Enterprise; parents, Beryl and Dorothy Brookshire of Union; brothers, Rick Brookshire of Alaska and Jeff Brookshire of Enterprise; grandsons, Ty and Colton Kirkland; and other relatives and friends. Her son, Clint Kirkland, preceded her in death.
